Vishnu Temple, Janjgir

 1. VISHNU MANDIR, JANJGIR.

SITUATED AT : DISTRICT HEAD QUARTER

    The Vishnu Mandir were built by kings of Hayhay Vansh, near Bhima Talab of purani basti of Janjgir in 12 Century. It was being constructed in two parts to make a full temple, but both the parts were not assembled in time and as a result of it, both the parts of the temple are laying on the ground separately and still the temple is uncompleted. Due to this, the temple is also called as Nakata Mandir by local people. On the walls of the temple the statue of God and Goddess, Gandharava and Kinners are making it worth watching for the tourists.

 

2. ADBHAR (DEVI TEMPLE)

Tahsil : MALKHARAUDA. Distance : 11 K.M. FROM SAKTI.

    It is an ancient temple of Goddess Devi with eight hands. Jyoti Kalash are lighted here on the occasion of Navratri.

 

3.  MADANPURGARH (DEVI MANDIR)

Tahsil : JANJGIR. Distance : 10 K.M. TOWRADS NOTH-EAST.

    This temple is also situated on the bank of Hasdeo river. It is famous for Devi Mandir. The festival of Navratri is being celebrated here with full devotion and faith.

4. PITHAMPUR (SHIV MANDIR)

Tahsil : JANJGIR. Distance : 10 K.M. TOWARDS EAST.

    The Lord Shiva Mandir is situated on the bank of river Hasdeo which is also known as Kaleshwarnath Mandir. A 10 days fate and fair is being organized here during the festival of Maha Shivaratri and Rang Panchami. Every year on RangPanchami the marriage procession Lord Shiva is being organized in which a group Naga Saints also takes part.

5. GHATADAI (PAHARIA) (TRIPUR SINGAR DEVI)

Tahsil : JANJGIR. Distance : 25 K.M. TOWARDS NORTH

    It is a temple of Tripur Sundar Devi surrounded by forests and mountains which making it quite beautiful to watch.

6. TURRIDHAM (SHIV TEMPLE)

Tahsil : SAKTI. Distance : 13K.M. FROM SAKTI.

    Lord Shiva temple is situated here by the name of Turridham. On the occasion of MahaShivratri, a 3 days mela is being organized here every year.

7. KANHARA

Tahsil : JANJGIR. Distance : 8 K.M. FROM BLOCK BALODA

    A place for picnic situated on the bank of Lilagar river surrounded with forest and natural beauty.

8. DEWAR GHATA

Tahsil : PAMGARH. Distance : 22 K.M. FROM TAHSIL HEAD QUARTER PAMGARH TOWARDS SOUTH-WEST.

    It is a sangam place of three rivers Mahandi, Lilagar and Shivnath which making it a place for joy and picnic spot.

9. DAMUDHARA (RISHABTHIRTH)

Tahsil : SAKTI. Distance : ON THE WAY OF SAKTI-KORBA AT 20 K.M

    This place is a beautiful place for tourist. It has natural water falls, Caves, Ram-Janki Temple, Radha-Krishan Temple, Rishavdev Temple etc. Near by this the other tourist places are Panchwati, Sitamadi etc are also a great place to visit.

10. LAXMANESHWAR TEMPLE, KHARAUD

Tahsil : PAMGARH. Distance : 20 K.M. FROM TAHSIL HEAD QUARTER PAMGARH TOWARDS SOUTH.

    According Hindu mythology and as per the local story a Shiv Temple was built here by younger brother of Bhagwan Ram, Laxman. That is why the temple is known as Laxmneshwar Temple. It is also a great place for Hindu pilgrims.

11. SHIVARINARAYAN TEMPLE

(SHIV TEMPLE, LAXMINARAYAN TEMPLE AND SHABRI AASHRAM)

Tahsil : NAWAGARH. Distance : 50 K.M. FROM DISTRICT HEAD QUARTER TOWARDS SOUTH

    The Laxminarayan Temple was built by the kings of Hayhay Vansh during the age of 11th century on the bank of Mahanadi at Shivarinarayan Nagar. According Hindu mythology from the age of Ramayana shabri aasharma is situated here. The temple of Shivarinarayan is a great piece work Vaishanav Shaili by the Vaishnav community. During Magh purnima a grand fate is being organized here. It is a place of worth watching for the tourists.

12. CHANDRAHASINI TEMPLE, CHANDRAPUR

Tahsil : DABHARA. Distance : 22 K.M. FROM TAHSIL HEAD QUARTER DABHARA TWORDS EAST.

    Here Chandrahasini Devi temple is situated on the bank of Mahanadi. A very big fate is being organized here every year on the eve of Navratri.It is also famous as a tourist place. People from other state like Orissa are also visiting this place. Day by day it is becoming a big place for holy as well as tourist place.
